We were disappointed with the new J Cody method of service. We much prefer the previous simple …order at the counter then self serve sides, cornbread, and drinks … then receive your entree. The stewed okra was the winner. The pinto beans and cabbage were under seasoned. The fried okra was salty. The chopped beef steak was over cooked and tough. The waitress said I could not order medium rare chopped beef steak or even medium well. J Cody advertises unlimited sides, but sides serve in small bowls is not practical and reordering small bowls of unlimited sides is annoying. Overall we paid more for less. Our much anticipated return to J Cody’s was a real disappointment, and by the size of the Sunday lunch crowd it appears we are not alone.
